Scenario persona / Jungkook
Share a piece of home.
A Korean student wants to share family recipes and build friendships. Limited shared language makes techniques and cultural context harder to explain.
Supporting work / G-love
A speculative cooking experience set in 2057, connecting recipes, gestures and shared tasks to imagine how international students could cook together.
01 / The Challenge
International students may want to share food traditions while navigating unfamiliar languages and social settings. In a kitchen, attention is also divided between people, instructions and tools.
G-love imagines a wearable glove, a connected G-BOARD and spatial guidance. The design question: how could spatial technology bridge language barriers through the shared activity of cooking?
02 / Design Framing
The concept follows two students in Berlin. Their goals frame three priorities: clear next actions, interaction that fits a busy kitchen, and recipes that retain a personal and cultural story.
Scenario persona / Jungkook
A Korean student wants to share family recipes and build friendships. Limited shared language makes techniques and cultural context harder to explain.
Scenario persona / Billie E
A fellow student wants to explore Korean food and make a new connection. She needs guidance she can follow without already knowing Korean.
These are scenario personas used to frame the concept, rather than verified interview participants.
03 / Experience Journey
The proposed Together path connects setup, recipe discovery, shared tasks and the exchange of culinary knowledge.
Wave to activate the glove, detect the device and connect the G-BOARD.
Choose a cook and dish, then set the portions.
Divide tasks and follow the next step with timing or voice guidance.
Record a session, reflect together and share culinary knowledge.
Together proposes synchronised tasks; Alone keeps an individual cooking path available. These are concept behaviours.
04 / Interface Decisions
The supplied case study adapts three source screens into presentation studies. They explain activation, mode choice and recipe discovery; the images below are static concept views.
Visible device feedback is intended to show that the glove is ready before a session begins.
Together and Alone make the mode choice visible before the cooking flow continues.
Chef-led discovery gives a dish cultural context alongside portions and timing.
05 / Spatial Experience
The speculative scene connects physical tools, digital guidance and social attention in one environment. Wearable sensing, spatial displays and recording are proposed capabilities.

06 / Outcome & Next Steps
The deliverables bring together a proposed cooking journey, concept interfaces and a spatial kitchen scene. The next step would be to test how people understand and control the experience.
The following validation activities are proposed, not completed.
Observe whether two people with limited shared language can understand the next task and coordinate.
Test whether gesture and voice controls remain understandable with occupied hands and kitchen noise.
Explore pausing, resuming, recording consent and deciding what to save or share.
07 / Reflection
G-love connects spatial thinking with interaction clarity and cultural storytelling. The design challenge extends beyond an interface: it considers the tools, timing and social attention around a shared activity.
For design opportunities and collaborations.
